Effects of Exposure to High Frequency noise on Hair Cells of the Organ of Corti.

Abstract
Exposure to excessive noise is known to cause hair cell damage in the organ of Corti. To investigate effect of high frequency noise on the morphology of the hair cellnuclei in the receptor organ of cochlear cytological observation was carried out on the hair cells following exposure with 8 KHz, 100 dB for 24hours.
Results obtained were summarized as follows:
The significant changes in the receptor organ of Corti were mainly noted on the basal turn of the Cochlea from the first section to the seventh section.
